Spring is here...or so it seems.

It has been a rough winter here in Portland. Lots of rain and grey skies. I suppose it makes for a lot of forced inside sitting and deep reflection! Coffee in tow.

Even though the last few days have been 80 degrees and the sky a shade of blue that makes you stop and gaze, this week with end with rain! We Portlanders will take what we can get.

The doors to our apartment are open and the camellia are blooming right outside our door. The shades of pink that line the streets of Portland make the long winter seem like a thing of the past and something that was bearable enough to see these pink and white trees bloom to fruition. I have also begun my first herb garden and flower pot. If my green thumb is at all green we will harvest some cilantro, basil and french lavender. This is the best time of the year.

There is lots to look forward to. God keeps us on our toes and has reminded us recently that living life abundantly in the moment is what is best for us. With so many variables as we start a new life together, we have decided to take it day by day and bask in the riches that each day holds, good or bad. We shall find the beauty in the day to day. And this makes me more excited than the great ball of fire shining in the sky right now.
